Jiangsu Guotai International Group
Jiangsu Guotai International Group (GTIG) is located in the national
garden city, Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, on the east coast of China
The adjacent areas of Jiangsu, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai are
home to a highly developed textile industry which benefits from an
excellent transportation network, strong economy and advanced
technology.
Zhangjiagang city, itself is only 1.5 hours away from Shanghai by
motorway.

GTIG started as a trading company in 1973 and has grown
steadily year on year to become a multi group manufacturing
and trading corporation.
In 2001, GTIG became the number one import/exporter in
Jiangsu Province and entered the top 30 in China. This
position has continued to be maintained with GTIGs assets
now amounting to over 3 billion RMB (USD$380 million).
In 2006 GTIG became the 3rd largest textiles and garments
exporting company in China and was listed on the Chinese
stock market (ID#002091) with a total turnover of USD$1.2
billion (with textiles from yarn to garment accounting for
90%). |

Customers |

GTIG is a nominated fabric supplier to J.C.Penney and its
fabrics are shipped to major garment manufacturing countries
such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia and Egypt. In addition
to fabrics, GTIG is also a major garment manufacturer and
supplier to the USA and European markets. Guomao Co. Ltd
(GTIGGM) is the largest garment exporting company of GTIG
group.
Customers include NEXT, H&M, ZARA, KOHL’S, TARGET, SEARS,
WAL-MART, MACY, and QVC, some of which are served through
importers such as LI&FUNG.
Of the total 2006 turnover, exports of garments (mostly
casual and daily clothing) accounted for USD$700 million.
Thanks to the support of those valued customers, GTIG is
enjoying an increasingly good reputation as a strong,
reliable and vertical international supplier of garments. |

In terms of GTIGs garment business, the USA makes up over
55% of its export volume and Europe 35%, with other markets
accounting for the remaining 10%.
GTIGs manufacturing capacity is substantial such that it can
produce a wide variety of items. However adults’ casual and
daily clothes are GTIGs main products with woven-fabric
accounting for 65% and knit around 35%.
GTIG operates two well organized industrial zones, which
consist of 16 factories with 8000 workers. All factories are
certified by major stores in the US and Europe. The annual
production capacity of these factories is around 1.9 million
dozen garments with different styles.

In 2007, two new factories came online, with 2500-3000
workers in total, adding a further 0.8 million dozens of
garments capacity. |
